Selling on Amazon might sound easy, but it can be tricky.
That’s why today we’re going to talk about an Amazon seller tool to make your life easier: Helium 10. We’ll see its main features, consider its pros and cons and find out whether it’s worth your time or not.
Let’s get straight to it!
Helium 10
Helium10 was funded in 2015 and it currently has over 2 million users worldwide.
It is a multifaceted platform that you can use at any point in your Amazon journey. Plus, some tools are also suitable for Walmart.
Its Black Box feature helps you find the best product type or niche while features like Review Velocity show how popular an item is when you’re considering whether to stock it or not.
Helium also has an award-winning training series and multiple webinars so you never stop learning!
Key features
Dashboard
When you land on Helium 10 dashboard, you’ll see the metrics insights and a challenge to complete in 14 days. The challenge is basically an excuse to get yourself going, which I found very smart.
Helium 10 has currently two dashboards: the old one and the new one. You can use whichever you prefer, although they aren’t very different. Both have a very friendly interface.
From the dashboard, you’ll be able to access its main features: Product Research, Listing Optimization, Analytics, Learning and Operations.
The list of features, however, is much longer and you can save them to Favorites for quicker access.
Product research
The goal of product research tools is to turn what would normally be hours of tedious product research into just a couple of clicks. They help you analyze product viability and maximize your selling opportunities.
Helium 10 has three tools that are suitable for this task: their Chrome extension, X-ray and Black Box.
Black Box allows users to search for Amazon products via different metrics. Its core metrics include the monthly revenue a product is generating, the number of reviews a product has, and the overall star rating of the product.
X-ray, on the other hand, effortlessly analyzes the demand and competition of an entire market on a selected results page.
We’ll talk about the Chrome extension in a bit.
Keyword research
Helium 10 has two keyword research tools: Magnet and Cerebro. Magnet enables you to conduct exploratory keyword research with a number of filters and data points to identify viable opportunities.
Cerebro, on the other hand, helps you conduct a competitive analysis of your competitors’ keyword targets so you can reverse engineer their work.
Listing research
Helium 10 has a Listing Analyzer that shows you what makes a good listing, well, good. It gives you an in-depth look at any Amazon listing’s health by entering any ASIN. You can even directly compare multiple ASINs simultaneously.
Listing Analyzer grades Amazon product pages based on factors such as capitalization of bullet points, the inclusion of product videos, the number of reviews and more.
Listing builder
In April, Helium 10 released an AI listing builder. Now the builder uses relevant keywords and product characteristics to automatically generate your title, bullet points and product description for you.
It uses the power of ChatGPT and it’s available on the Diamond plan. However, if you have the Platinum plan, you can access a 48-hour free trial.
Landing page builder
Helium 10 Portals is their web page builder that helps you drive external traffic from social media and paid ads more directly to your product page.
There are multiple pre-made templates to choose from according to category and design. There are thank-you pages, email opt-in pages and beautiful designs.
One of the things it offers is the creation of QR codes that are scannable from any smartphone device. You can also customize shortened URLs to drive traffic throughout your marketing funnel.
Another feature of Portals is Blueprint. There are different ways to engage with your users and encourage them to purchase:
- Offering a product warranty after a sale.
- Turning customers into followers by running contests and giveaways.
- Offering coupon codes before a sale.
Email automation
Helium 10 helps you set up automated communications with your Amazon buyers very easily.
It gives you two options: select a pre-made template or create an automation from scratch. The pre-made templates include request a review, returned orders and more.
Add-ons
Paid Helium 10 subscriptions have access to purchase add-ons such as Adtomic, Market Tracker 360 and Elite. These offer exclusive training, AI-powered PPC and other features.
Walmart
As mentioned before, although Helium 10 started as an Amazon tool, it has expanded to Walmart Marketplace.
The features that work both for Amazon and Walmart are Cerebro, Magnet, Keyword Tracker and Profits.
However, keep in mind that if you’re in the Free, Starter or Platinum plan, you’ll have limited access to new software for Walmart. If you wish to have unlimited access, you’ll need to be in the Diamond plan.
Collaboration tools
Helium 10 lets you add more users to your account even in the free plan. It includes 5 user seats.
The process of adding users is very simple: you just have to add their email and name and it’s done.
Once you add the user, you’ll grant, revoke and manage access rights from settings. The list of permissions is large, so you can give exactly the level of access you want.
Languages available
Helium 10 supports English, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, German and Italian.
Chrome extension
Helium 10 offers a free Chrome extension with extensive looks at product search results pages directly on Amazon. This includes important product validation data such as monthly sales, average revenue and estimated Amazon FBA fees.
Helium 10 also includes a Profitability Calculator.
This interactive calculator can be used on any Amazon product page. It gives users the ability to not only view estimated, profit-centric data but also to plug and play with their own numbers and see how it affects their bottom line.
Free tools
Although Helium 10 has a free forever plan, they also offer free tools. You can use these tools on their dedicated landing page, yet if you sign up for a free account, you’ll receive a higher level of access and more searches each month.
The list of free tools includes the free Amazon keyword tool, Amazon Sales Estimator and Amazon Trending products. There’s also a free Amazon PPC Audit Tool that shows you what will it take to reach your target Advertising Cost of Sale (ACoS).
Support and resources
Helium 10 has a strong YouTube presence. It uploads videos frequently, with multiple videos per week. They have a Facebook community you can join to discuss industry news, learn helpful tips and selling strategies.
If you need help, you can go to their knowledge base or submit a question.
Besides, there’s a Learn button in multiple places on the dashboard to teach you how to use certain tools.
Paid plans also include Freedom Ticket, an award-winning Amazon FBA training course.
It’s also good to note that Helium 10 is open to suggestions and feedback. You can request features and complete surveys so they keep getting better.
Pricing
Helium 10 has a 7-day money-back guarantee if you’re not satisfied with the Helium10 suite of tools:
