While there are plenty in the market, it can be tough to decide which one is for you. That’s why today we’ll cover two different tools that serve different purposes.
We’ll talk about Helium 10 and Keepa and see their main features, pricing and more.

Helium 10 vs Keepa
Helium 10
Helium10 was funded in 2015 and it currently has over 2 million users worldwide.
It is a multifaceted tool you can use at any point in your Amazon journey. Plus, some tools are also suitable for Walmart.
Its Black Box feature helps you find the best product type or niche while features like Review Velocity show how popular an item is when you’re considering whether to stock it or not.
Helium also has an award-winning training series and multiple webinars, so you never stop learning!
Keepa
Keepa is a German freemium Amazon seller tool that was founded in 2000. It keeps pricing histories for all products on the site and it doesn’t require registration, so literally anyone can use this tool.
The site has a very collaborative structure, with a Keepa Community Forum and a section to requires new features.
Key features
Dashboard
Helium 10 has currently two dashboards: the old one and the new one. You can use whichever you prefer, although they aren’t very different.
From the dashboard, you’ll be able to access its main features: Product Research, Listing Optimization, Analytics, Learning and Operations.
The list of features, however, is much longer and you can save them to Favorites for quicker access.
Keepa’s dashboard is much more minimalistic than Helium 10’s. You won’t have notifications suggesting how to get started, but rather be on your own.
However, its simple interface makes it easy to quickly access all its features and settings such as language and marketplace.
Product research
Helium 10 has three tools that are suitable for this task: their Chrome extension, Xray and Black Box.
Black Box allows users to search for Amazon products via different metrics. Its core metrics include the monthly revenue a product generates, the number of reviews a product has, and the overall star rating of the product.
Xray, on the other hand, effortlessly analyzes the demand and competition of an entire market on a selected results page.
Keepa, on the other hand, offers valuable pricing and sales rank data but doesn’t have an advanced product research tool like Helium 10.
Marketplaces
Helium 10 works for 13 marketplaces, including Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, Australia and Japan. Languages will also change according to location.
Keepa tracks the products of multiple Amazon shops too, however, not as many as Helium 10. You won’t be able to access data from the United Arab Emirates or Australia.
Keyword research
Helium 10 has two keyword research tools: Magnet and Cerebro (yes, like “brain” in Spanish). Magnet enables you to conduct exploratory keyword research with several filters and data points to identify viable opportunities.
Cerebro, on the other hand, helps you conduct a competitive analysis of your competitors’ keyword targets so you can reverse engineer their work.
Keepa doesn’t offer keyword research.
Pricing analysis and market trend
Keepa focuses on pricing analysis and understanding market trends. Its historical data and price tracking features provide sellers with insights into how prices have changed over time and help them to strategize their pricing to stay competitive.
In this aspect, although Helium 10 offers some market analysis features, it can’t compete with Keepa.
Add-ons
Paid Helium 10 subscriptions have access to purchase add-ons such as Adtomic, Market Tracker 360 and Elite. These offer exclusive training, AI-powered PPC and other features.
Walmart
As mentioned before, although Helium 10 started as an Amazon tool, it has expanded to Walmart Marketplace.
The features that work both for Amazon and Walmart are Cerebro, Magnet, Keyword Tracker and Profits.
Keepa is only meant for Amazon.
Collaboration tools
Helium 10 lets you add more users to your account, even in the free plan. It includes 5 user seats.
Keepa, sadly, isn’t currently offering team account plans. If you want other team members to access your account, you’ll need to get another subscription for each.
Email automation
Helium 10 helps you set up automated communications with your Amazon buyers very easily.
It gives you two options: select a pre-made template or create an automation from scratch.
The pre-made templates include request a review, returned orders and more.
Keepa also includes email automation. You can also set Keepa to monitor an item and send you an alert on product availability or a drop in the item price. Sellers can be notified through text, Twitter, Facebook or email.
Languages available
Helium 10 supports English, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, German and Italian.
Keepa has more language options, you can choose between six languages, including Japanese, German, French and Spanish.
Extensions
Helium 10 offers a free Chrome extension with extensive looks at product search results pages directly on Amazon. This includes important product validation data such as monthly sales, average revenue and estimated Amazon FBA fees.
Helium 10 also includes a Profitability Calculator.
Keepa provides you with not only an extension for Chrome but also a for Firefox, Edge Opera and Safari.
It’s even available as a mobile app for Android and iOS!
Free tools
Although Helium 10 has a free forever plan, it also offers free tools. You can use these tools on their dedicated landing page, yet if you sign up for a free account, you’ll receive a higher level of access and more searches each month.
The list of free tools includes the free Amazon keyword tool, Amazon Sales Estimator and Amazon Trending products. There’s also a free Amazon PPC Audit Tool that shows you what will it take to reach your target Advertising Cost of Sale (ACoS).
As to Keepa, as mentioned before, it doesn’t even require an account to be used.
Support and resources
Helium 10 uploads videos frequently, with multiple videos per week. They have a Facebook community you can join to discuss industry news and learn helpful tips and selling strategies.
If you need help, you can go to their knowledge base or submit a question.
Besides, there’s a Learn button in multiple places on the dashboard to teach you how to use certain tools.
Keepa has a forum section and offers support via email. I reached out to them and they answered very quickly.

The truth is, although we tend to choose one tool over the other, in this case, these Amazon seller tools are complementary!
They only overlap in product research and email automation. Other than that, you can pick based on your priorities or even better, use both. This last option is very tempting since Helium 10 and Keepa offer free services, so you won’t have to sell a kidney for the combo.
