Helium10 was funded in 2015 and it currently has over 2 million users worldwide.
It is a multifaceted tool you can use at any point in your Amazon journey. Plus, some tools are also suitable for Walmart.
Its Black Box feature helps you find the best product type or niche while features like Review Velocity show how popular an item is when you’re considering whether to stock it or not.

ZonGuru
ZonGuru is an ecommerce software to grow Amazon Brands and Agencies. It was founded by Adam Hudson and Jonathan Tilley in 2016 and it’s used by thousands of sellers.
ZonGuru supports 10 major Amazon marketplaces, including Europe and North America.

Product research
Helium 10 has three tools that are suitable for this task: their Chrome extension, Xray and Black Box.
Black Box allows users to search for Amazon products via different metrics. Its core metrics include the monthly revenue a product generates, the number of reviews a product has and the overall star rating of the product.
Xray, on the other hand, effortlessly analyzes the demand and competition of an entire market on a selected results page.
ZonGuru’s product research tool is called Love-Hate. I have to say, their tool names are great.
Love-Hate automatically generates word clouds containing commonly used words or phrases from every positive and negative review.
If you need some inspiration, just pop in a search term and the tool will provide you with a detailed list of beautiful product photos from Google and Pinterest.
Marketplaces
Helium 10 works for 13 marketplaces, including Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, Australia and Japan. Languages will also change according to location.
ZonGuru, sadly, can’t compete in this aspect with Helium 10. They only support 10 marketplaces and are still working on supporting Japan and India.
Keyword research
Helium 10 has two keyword research tools: Magnet and Cerebro (yes, like “brain” in Spanish). Magnet enables you to conduct exploratory keyword research with several filters and data points to identify viable opportunities.
ZonGuru has Keywords on Fire, a research tool that will show you data such as the monthly revenue each keyword generates for the top 25 listings or what the average PPC bid is.

Walmart
Although Helium 10 started as an Amazon tool, it has expanded to Walmart Marketplace.
The features that work both for Amazon and Walmart are Cerebro, Magnet, Keyword Tracker and Profits.
ZonGuru is focused exclusively on Amazon.
Collaboration tools
Helium 10 lets you add more users to your account, even in the free plan. It includes 5 user seats.
On the contrary, ZonGuru doesn’t include collaboration tools in their plans. If you want to invite other users to your account, you’ll need to purchase the ‘Assistant Accounts’ add-on.
Email automation
Helium 10 and ZonGuru help you set up automated communications with your Amazon buyers very easily.
Helium 10 gives you two options: select a pre-made template or create an automation from scratch. The pre-made templates include request a review, returned orders and more.
ZonGuru’s email automation allows you to choose exactly when and to whom the emails will be sent. For example, you can automate your emails to skip if a customer left a negative review.
Languages available
Helium 10 supports English, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, German and Italian.
ZonGuru only supports English.
Chrome Extensions
Both Helium 10 and ZonGuru offer a Chrome extension and they are quite similar.
Helium 10’s extension gives you extensive looks at product search results pages directly on Amazon. This includes important product validation data such as monthly sales, average revenue and estimated Amazon FBA fees.
Meanwhile, ZonGuru’s extension has a Niche Rater function, thanks to which you get an exact rating for the product categories you’re interested in.

Why you should use ZonGuru
Although ZonGuru doesn’t have a free plan, thanks to its interactive demo and its 7-day free trial, you can get a sense of what it looks like on the inside.
Moreover, even if you need to purchase add-ons, the final price might still be cheaper than Helium 10’s. And all for similar core features and plenty of learning resources.
Verdict
Although Helium 10 and ZonGuru were founded almost at the same time, Helium 10 seems much older and wiser.
ZonGuru does have a lot of strong points, of course. As you can see in this post, they provide excellent support, free resources and state-of-the-art AI tools. However, they don’t support other languages or marketplaces in Asia or South America.
Helium 10 also has a free forever plan that makes it really appealing to beginners.
