One of the most important things to keep in mind when having your brand online is search engine optimization (SEO). Some parts of SEO are less intuitive than others and require looking at more data.
That’s why there are so many SEO tools out there. We’ve previously talked about the 15 best domain authority checkers.
But today we’ll focus on two well-known and affordable ones: Mangools and Ubersuggest. We’ll see what they have to offer, their pricing plans and their pros and cons.
After that, you’ll know which one is the best for you.
But first, let’s talk about why you should use an SEO tool.
Why use an SEO tool
We know that as a small business, you want to spend as little as possible. In fact, some say that marketers are reducing their budgets. While moving to more cost-effective platforms is super understandable, it’s important to still invest in SEO tools.
Here’s what they help you achieve:
- Increase your visibility. Tracking tools show you what keywords perform best, thus you know what to replicate to increase the good results.
- Identify problems. If your ranking falls, you can see why: maybe your competitors outrank you or you have technical errors. Once you know, it’ll be easier to fix it.
- Assess your competitors. Besides tracking your own keywords, you can track your competitors’. Getting insights into their strengths is an amazing way to make informed decisions. And also steal their search traffic as we explained once.
- Find keyword opportunities.
That being said, luckily for you both Mangools and Ubersuggest are very affordable platforms that cover all of those great things. Let’s see:
Mangools vs Ubersuggest
Mangools
Mangools was founded in 2016 by Peter Hrbáčik. Its headquarters are in Bratislava, Slovakia.
Mangools has some of the juiciest SEO tools on the market: KWFinder, SERP Checker, SiteProfiler and more. It allows you to check the domain authority of any website and compare them with yours.
Companies like Airbnb and The Home Depot all use it to optimize their web pages.
Ubersuggest
Ubersuggest is a company created by no other than Neil Patel, the popular digital marketing and SEO industry expert. According to him, Ubersuggest is so user-friendly that even the smallest businesses with limited knowledge of SEO can get all the information they need to thrive on Google.
Key features
Data sources
First things first. When it comes to tools that rely heavily on data, we need to talk about where they get the data from. While both Mangools and Ubersuggest use Google as a big source of data, Mangools also considers other platforms like Moz and Majestic.
Keyword research
When it comes to Ubersuggest, you can find low-competition keywords with the help of its content ideas option. They have all the basic information that every tool has, as well as keyword comparisons and questions.
Mangools is a bit more advanced. Its keyword research tool, KWFinder, shows you metrics such as search volume, KD, Trend and keyword ideas. It also shows you the Google autocomplete keyword in the keyword suggestion tab.
SERP Analysis
Mangools has its Google SERP Simulator, a free tool you can use to check your meta descriptions and page titles.
With its SERP Volatility tool, you’ll be updated via email when there are significant changes to the Google search engine results. That way you can keep your keywords updated to shifts and make sure you’re not negatively affected.
Ubersuggest doesn’t offer similar tools.
Competitor research
Mangools offers insights into competitors’ websites, including their top-ranking keywords, backlinks and organic search positions. It gives you a beautiful graph with website popularity rank, referring IPs and Facebook shares.
Similarly, Ubersuggest identifies which keywords you and your competitors compete for and which keywords you should go after.
Domain authority and page authority
Both Ubersuggest and Mangools offer site analysis.
Mangools’s domain authority tool is called SiteProfiler and allows you to find competitor top-linked content and write something better than that.
Collaboration tools
Both Mangools and Ubersuggest let you add team members to your account.
Mangools gives you up to 5 extra seats with its highest plan. If you need more, you can get additional seats for $19 per month.
Similarly, Ubersuggest’s highest plan is for a total of 5 users. If you want more, there’s an add-on that costs $5 per month per additional user.
Languages
Ubersuggest supports multiple languages, making it suitable for users targeting audiences in different regions and languages. You can choose among 7 languages, including Spanish, Italian, French and German.
Mangools, sadly, only supports English.
Extensions
Mangools has a Chrome and a Firefox extension. The extensions give you metrics for a particular website at a glance, including backlinks, domain and page authority, and social media account links.
Mangools even offers a private API for KWFinder and SERP checker.
Ubersuggest, on the other hand, only offers a Chrome browser extension. It allows users to access keyword data and analysis directly while browsing the web. This extension streamlines keyword research tasks.
It also doesn’t have any API plans available right now.
Content
Ubersuggest has a free AI content generator. The AI writer assistant carves full-length article drafts to give you a solid base for writing. It also generates compelling headings.
All content is plagiarism-free and ready for you to save, share, or copy and paste into another document you’re working on.
Moreover, Ubersuggest’s A/B Testing Significance Calculator helps you understand whether your design or copy change impacted your sales or not. You simply have to enter your visitor and conversion numbers in the calculator to find out.
Mangools doesn’t have any similar tools.
Support and resources
Mangools has a ton of learning resources, from blog posts and tool guides to a glossary with SEO terms. Its YouTube channel is updated almost every month and its filled with tips for using its tools.
When you sign up to Ubersuggest, you get detailed step-by-step course videos to generate massive amounts of SEO traffic. You also access biweekly coaching calls where you get the chance to ask all your questions to Neil Patel and the rest of the team.
If you want to get a quicker response, email support is available and they will give you an instant and in-depth response.

Mangools’ extensive metric filters and stunning graphics allow you to visualize the exact data you need easily.

Ubersuggest Pros and Cons
Pros
One of the things that differentiates Ubersuggest from other SEO tools, including Mangools, is its content marketing side. Thanks to its AI writing assistant, Ubersuggest is truly an all-in-one tool that helps you alongside the multiple steps of your digital marketing strategy.
Cons
Ubersuggest doesn’t provide automated reporting or local SEO while Mangools does.
Verdict
Mangools and Ubersuggest are SEO tools that can be used simultaneously since each has something the other doesn’t. This is also possible thanks to their affordable pricing and the option of using them for free.
However, if it comes to one over the other, Ubersuggest is the winner. It covers more aspects of online marketing struggles, it’s available in multiple languages and it has an overall better pricing.
