Nowadays it can be quite hard to choose a platform for your email marketing campaign. Not only there are plenty out there, but also many email marketing platforms have evolved and are offering lead collection and website-building features.
That’s why today, we’re conducting a head-to-head comparison between an all-in-one marketing platform and an email marketing platform: Systeme and MailerLite. We’ll go through their main features, their integrations, pricing, pros and cons.
Follow us as we try to solve the question: which one should you pick?
Systeme VS MailerLite
Systeme
Systeme is an all-in-one marketing platform founded by Aurelien Amacker. The company started with a large customer base of French users but eventually expanded to the international market.
Among its wide variety of features, you’ll find email marketing, sales funnels and affiliate programs.
MailerLite
MailerLite is called that for a reason: they remove the complexity of digital marketing and deliver a customer-friendly approach while still offering advanced features.
Popular for its email marketing features, MailerLite also offers website and form building, among other tools we’ll talk about in a minute.
One of its key aspects is its strong customer support. They offer 24/7 live chat and email support on its premium plans.
Key features
Dashboard
Both Systeme and MailerLite have a user-friendly interface. However, when you first land on their dashboards, there are some differences.
The main thing is that Systeme allows you to start using all its features instantly, while MailerLite requires you to fill in a form so they can review your account and approve it. The process can take up to 24 hours and in the meantime, you can’t access email campaign sending and site publishing.
Email design
Mailerlite’s drag-and-drop editor makes it easy to create professional-looking emails without any coding skills. You can choose from a variety of templates, customize them with your own branding, and add images, videos, buttons and more.
Systeme’s email editor is quite basic, both on its tools and its interface, as you can see above.
Automation
Systeme and MailerLite offer automation workflows so you can reach the right people at the right time. For example, you can send a welcome email when someone signs up, a reminder when they abandon their cart or a follow-up when they click a link.
However, here again, MailerLite offers the more advanced option.
With MailerLite’s automation workflows, you can set up multiple triggers and actions to send targeted messages to your subscribers based on their behavior. You can add up to 3 triggers for each automation, enabling multiple entry points for one workflow.
Artificial intelligence
AI features are now present everywhere…Except on Systeme. The platform won’t even give you an AI writing assistant integration, which is kind of a bummer.
MailerLite does come with an AI email generator that will write your email subject lines, regenerate content that you didn’t like and have the perfect tone of voice.
Moreover, MailerLite also offers Smart sending, an AI-powered email timing that learns each subscriber’s habits for optimal open rates.
Team collaboration
Both Systeme and MailerLite let you add team members to your workspace.
Systeme has this feature in all its plans, even the free forever plan. You can add as many members as you want and assign them one of two roles: assistant or admin.
MailerLite’s team collaboration features start on its first premium plan, where you can add two other users. However, the next tier lets you add unlimited users.
Payment gateways
Since you’re probably trying to monetize your business with these platforms, their payment integrations are quite important.
Systeme integrates with multiple gateways such as PayPal, Stripe, Paystack and even Cash on delivery.
I also noticed they have a MercadoPago integration. This is the first time I have seen this Latin-American payment platform supported in a marketing platform. Kudos to Systeme!
MailerLite can’t compete in this aspect. It only has a Stripe integration. If you need to connect MailerLite with another tool, you’ll have to use a third-party integration platform like Zapier or Make.
Other integrations
MailerLite integrates with up to 149 popular web services. You’ll find integrations for everything: email verification, surveys, referrals and memberships, and much more. Squarespace, Figma and Adobe Express are among their more recent integrations.
Systeme, although having plenty of payment integrations, lacks direct integration with other types of services. You can, for example, integrate with ActiveCampaign but only if you have an enabled API.
Analytics
Mailerlite provides detailed reports on your email campaigns, including open rates, click-through rates, and more. You can even track the performance of your automation workflows and A/B test different elements of your emails to optimize your results.
Thanks to a recent update, they now also offer Multivariate Testing, which lets you compare 3 variables at the same time.
Systeme displays its analytics in the main dashboard with big comprehensible graphics. They also have an affiliate dashboard where you’ll see the commission earned, your lifetime earnings and much more insights.
Other features
Systeme.io offers a drag-and-drop funnel builder to help you create high-converting sales funnels. You can also set up order bumps, upsells and downsells to maximize your revenue.
On the other hand, if you use MailerLite, the only way to build a sales funnel is by integrating it with ClickFunnels or a similar tool.
Languages
Systeme’s dashboard is available in almost 30 languages, including German, Hindi, French and Spanish.
MailerLite doesn’t keep in mind the language barrier, and it only supports English.
Support and resources
MailerLite has a whole section of different kinds of learning resources for every preference and need: a knowledge base, a blog, video tutorials, live training and guides.
In fact, since MailerLite partnered with Upwork, you can even hire an expert for your project.
You’ll have to open a customer support ticket to get in touch with them.
By comparison, Systeme’s resources are very limited. They only offer a blog, a help center and some video tutorials.
Moreover, as mentioned before, Systeme is a French company that didn’t focus on the English market initially. Maybe that’s why they have a YouTube channel in Spanish but not in English.
If you have any questions, you can contact support by submitting a form or you can join the Facebook community and get help from your peers.
Pricing
Systeme has a free trial and offers four plans:
- Free. It includes 2,000 contacts and unlimited emails.
- Startup: $27 per month. Have up to 5,000 contacts and three custom domains.
- Webinar: $47 per month. It includes 10,000 contacts and 10 evergreen webinars.
- Unlimited: $97 per month. You’ll get everything unlimited, plus free migration and a 1-on-1 kickstart coaching session.
Thanks to MailerLite’s flexible pricing, you’re able to customize your plan according to how many contacts you have.
- Free plan: up to 1,000 subscribers and 12,000 monthly emails.
- Growing business: $10 per month for up to 500 subscribers. Includes unlimited monthly emails and collaboration features.
- Advanced: $20 per month for up to 1,000 subscribers. Includes a custom HTML editor and an AI writing assistant.
- Enterprise: custom. For businesses with over 100K subscribers, they’ll offer a dedicated success manager, custom newsletter design and custom landing page design.
MailerLite also has a 30-day full access period to test each premium plan.
Systeme Pros and Cons
Pros
Systeme has a very robust free forever plan with multiple juicy features that even let you run your own affiliate program.
Moreover, Systeme keeps in mind its customers from all over the world, offering a multi-language dashboard and payment gateways from different regions.
Cons
Systeme doesn’t offer AI writing assistant tools or advanced automation features.
MailerLite Pros and Cons
Pros
MailerLite has a fantastic interface and ease of use which makes it both eye-catching and perfect for beginners.
It also has a huge range of integrations that are constantly being updated. So even though the platform already offers plenty of features, you can connect it with your favorite tools and get the best out of each one.
Cons
MailerLite doesn’t come with a sales funnel feature, nor does it support other languages other than English.
Verdict
So back to our question: which one is better, an all-in-one platform or an advanced email marketing platform?
As much as I love Systeme’s inclusivity in both language support and payment gateways and its free forever plan with endless users, it doesn’t compare to MailerLite.
MailerLite seems to be very aware of the constant updates require for a marketing platform to survive and it does the job very well. Although it might mean you’ll need a couple integrations, I believe it’s still better than the all-in-one option of Systeme.
